Laptop Batteries
Often times our laptop batteries will just stop working. How frustrating is it, having to have your laptop plugged into the charger the entire time? What if your job includes having to carry your laptop to different places, or if you just want to lay back in your bed while working on your laptop or watching a good movie, but your charger does not reach that far? It is essential to find a first-class quality battery that will last.
The most popular types of batteries ever used are: Nickel Cadmium, Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium Ion. The Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) batteries where the first laptop batteries to be rechargeable. In the beginning they were manufactured a lot as their cost was low and they had a high output. Sadly for manufacturers they are not used anymore due to their heaviness and inefficiency compared to the newer, more contemporary laptop batteries.
After NiCd came Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries which can still be found everywhere and additionally, are mostly used in older laptop models. These batteries are much more reliable than the NiCd and have an even higher output level. Not only are these batteries cheaper to produce but they are also safer to use. Although these batteries were good in the way that they were cheaper and safer they had a memory defect. If the battery is not fully discharged, the battery will remember this and will leave a person with less than the ideal battery output.
The most commonly used laptop battery now a days is the Lithium Ion (LiON) laptop batteries. The Lithium Ion Batteries are lighter than both the NiMH batteries and the NiCD and also do not have a memory problem. This gives the Lithium Ion the advantage of being the most popular and expensive laptop battery. Because of this the LiON is the best battery you can get for your laptop if money is not an issue; but if it is the next best battery to get is the NiMH.
