my laptop does not read disc inserted in it,please help me out in detecting a solution to it, i use a vista operating system. it starts making noise. Now on insertion of cd/dvd the movie gets slow as if in slow motion. Pl help me fix the problem

my dvd/cd drive reads perfect but will not burn and its a new drive and tried switching to differnt brand of disk cant find firmwear, lost… help please

i am having dell inspiron 1525.I purchased it a year before .Just afew days ago i burned a cd.After burning sucessfully when i checked the cd it showed some space has been used but when i opened it was empty.I played it on a different computer and it worked.So it want to know what was the problem.

Some laptops are harder to disassemble than others, we have had problems with Toshiba S504 – it is impossible to remove CPU heatsink to get access to CPU for upgrade. Any possible recommendations would be appreciated.

It is usually not that hard to replace RAM in laptop or upgrade it, if you know what are you doing, but sometimes it is better to have it done by professionals.

hi i got my hp laptop like 2 years ago.. my laptop is just fine until oneday(i believe it’s been 6 months) i inserted cd to burn school project and the cd driver suddenly gave a really loud noise and got shaky unnaturally. after reformatting my os and everything it looked fine, and i reinstalled os again it came back.. it is really annoying and it sounds like drilling on my desk..

thanks so much! you saved me soooo much hassle!
before i found this guide i had already unscrewed every screw i could see and pried and prodded at all the plastic bits in the way of the keyboard.
thank god for the internets and its faithful tutorial posting angels!!!
